Changes to my study program

I am not totally sure what to change in the entire anthropology curriculum, I am just beginning my career, however, something that I noticed that did not convince me was the theoretical focus of this third semester. I think it was vitally important to have a more diverse approach this semester because next year we will have to choose the way that we would like to follow, in other words, we will have to choose between anthropology, archeology and physical anthropology. I know that the pandemic factor complicates the application of technical or field study methods, among many more, however, I feel that the first year of the degree managed, in a better way, to represent these methods or something of them, which the semester I’m finishing today couldn't get. 

Another thing that might change in my career would be the excessive study of authors. I do not want to be misinterpreted because I think it is very important to study a great variety of authors, however, I believe that it's also essential to be able to propose a more critical and proper vision of anthropology, to have the freedom to express your opinion as future anthropologist or archaeologist and not just rethink or copy the thinking of one or more authors. 

That is why I also consider that it is essential to explore artistic, scientific and literary fields in the career that could help anthropology coincide in a different way.

The trip I've always wanted to have.

 If I had the opportunity to travel to any country I wanted, I would probably choose France.  I would choose this country because my parents and grandparents were exiled to this place during the dictatorship, so they lived a great number of years there. I would love to visit the places where they lived as well as explore the many cities, museums and monuments of the country that have always fascinated me. It should be added that I studied at the Alianza Francesa high school in Chile, so my knowledge of France is extensive because I had to study the language, history, geography, philosophy and many more aspects of the country.  In relation to the above, studying at that school made me make many friends who live in France today, so I would also love to go there to visit them. All these aspects make me want to live, or at least work for a while, in France, in addition to the fact that, due to my family's exile, I have French nationality so I would have access to many social facilities

Postgraduate studies

 Nowadays, I am still not very clear about what postgraduate studies to do, if I do any, but I have some ideas. I would love to do a postgraduate degree in documentary film or something similar, even if isn't have a direct link with anthropology, because, as I mentioned in my last post, I think is important to illustratively document the problems and situations that surround the anthropological field and show them to the people through a pleasant but, at the same time, informative medium.In this postgraduate, I would be interested in learning cinematographic concepts such as the different planes and sequences of motion, as well as how to structure a script and how to get your message across to the audience. I'm still undecided on where I would like to study. The best holidays ever!!

 Choosing the best hollidays of my life is difficult, but I think that one that marked me the most was one of the few times that I have left Chile, the time I went to Paraguay. I made this trip with my grandparents of my mother's side and my sister in 2017, staying for 2 weeks in the country in different hotels, visiting awesomes iconic parts such as the capital Asuncion, the Iguazu Falls and the White Lagoon. Also, we take profit of visiting distinctive museums in which I learned a lot about the Guarani culture and the country itself. On the other hand, we also managed to see and be impressed with the vast and beautiful areas of endemic fauna and flora of the country. I think that at that time the best thing about the trip for me was precisely the above mentioned, to see the nature of the country, with its animals and unique flowers, such as the yacare caiman or the koati.
